Scope: This regulation establishes the general provisions for METAL FOOD CONTACT MATERIALS in BRAZIL. This regulation incorporates MERCOSUR Resolution GMC/RES No 46/2006, which approves the general provisions for METAL PACKAGING and EQUIPMENT in contact with food; and its Amendments: Resolutions GMC/RES No 16/2020 and No 48/2023. It is applicable to metal packaging, coatings, utensils, lids and equipment intended to come into contact with food.
